The Oak and Anchor

It is here we must give it up for the hometown heroes!

The Oak & Anchor Hotel, a beloved establishment in Port Fairy for over 160 years, has undergone a remarkable transformation. Formerly known as 'The Royal Oak' or 'The Commercial', this historic gem has played a vibrant role in the town's bustling history since the mid-1800s.

Back in the day, when Port Fairy was known as Belfast, 'The Royal Oak' was the go-to spot for both locals and traveler's alike. It served as a meeting point for Cobb & Co Coaches, giving adventurous souls a perfect starting point for their journeys. And let's not forget its reputation as the ultimate watering hole, where thirsty patrons would gather to enjoy a refreshing pint or two until closing time.

But that was all about to change in 2017. The era of 'The Royal Oak' came to an end, leaving a void in the hearts of Port Fairy residents. However, fear not! In November of 2018, a dynamic duo emerged to breathe new life into this treasured establishment.

Enter Blair Robertson, a true local through and through, and his incredible partner Sally. Together, they embarked on a daring journey to revitalise The Oak & Anchor Hotel and make it shine brighter than ever before. With their passion, dedication, and deep love for their community, they have created a place where locals and visitors alike can come together to create unforgettable memories.

Nestled in the charming seaside village of Port Fairy, right at the tip of the stunning Great Ocean Road, this warmly designed boutique hotel has very much reclaimed its rightful place as the heart and soul of this charming coastal town.
