Nazuna Kyoto Gosho

Welcome to Nazuna Kyoto Gosho, a luxury Ryokan situated near the Kyoto Imperial Palace. The establishment has two spacious and traditional Kyoto-style townhouses, 'Kyomachiya', which have been transformed into a world of Japanese confections. Upon entering the lobby, you'll notice the expansive ceiling, artfully preserved from its previous life as a lumber warehouse. It's a transformation from a historical building into a Ryokan (traditional Japanese inn), a unique luxury lodging concept.

Each of the seven rooms is designed with a Wagashi theme, providing a blend of traditional Japanese culture and modern comfort. The four guest rooms situated off the lobby area offer a view of the Japanese garden, where you can witness the beauty of Kyoto's ever-changing seasons. The rooms feature clean lines and a minimalist, traditional Japanese style. Locay recommends the Kashiwa Mochi, a spacious luxury king room that includes an open-air bath. Then there's the Kuzukiri room, inspired by the traditional Japanese sweet called "Kuzukiri." This room has a king-size bed with views of a private garden, as well as a hinoki bath (partially outdoor) with a floor-to-ceiling window that overlooks the garden. During the cooler months, all rooms are equipped with heated floors to ensure your utmost comfort.

Adjacent to the garden, you'll discover the second Kyomachiya, which offers three additional guest rooms along with a dining and lounge space. This space provides the perfect setting for guests to indulge in a Japanese breakfast in the morning or complimentary beverages in the evening.

In Central Kyoto, you'll find a perfect combination of ancient and modern Kyoto. From the iconic Nijo Castle and the majestic Imperial Palace in the north to Kyoto Station in the south, this area offers endless opportunities for exploration. Dive into the rich history of temple complexes such as Nishi-Honganji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or immerse yourself in the rich history and allure of Sumiya, one of the last of an Ageya," a traditional "geisha" entertainment house. After a day exploring the shrines and temples, as the sun sets, we recommend experiencing Pontocho, a vibrant traditional nightlife district in Kyoto. The Ryokan tip is to not miss a visit to Nishiki Market, known as "Kyoto's Kitchen, where you can indulge in Kyoto delicacies.
