Elysian Luxury Eco Island Retreat

Introducing the ultimate off-the-grid getaway, Elysian Luxury Eco Island Retreat.

Situated in a truly remote location, this resort boasts its sustainable positioning as the first solar powered hotel on the Great Barrier Reef. However, don't let the eco-friendly aspect fool you - this is no ordinary beach shack.

Escape to this stunning retreat nestled in a secluded cove on the southern tip of Long Island. Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Whitsunday islands just off the coast of Queensland. Long island can be reached with daily transfers from Airlie Beach, a small local town full of energy that services much of the tourism trade heading out to the Whitsunday islands. Flights arrive to Proserpine from most major cities daily, with Airlie beach an easy 45 min transfer.

Alternative flights can be found to the region via Hamilton Island Airport however a 2 hour ferry transfer will require you to head back to the coast before venturing back out to this unique island home.

Boasting 10 private villas, this resort is an adults only paradise with facilities such as mineral pool, spa and contemporary hotel dining space. Each villa is well appointed with air-conditioning and a selection of ocean, mountain and rainforest views. Made from sturdy Australian hardwood with soaring cathedral ceilings, guests can revel in expansive windows and exclusive balconies, boasting uninterrupted water vistas. Outdoor hammocks, lounge chairs, and al fresco showers offer plenty of chances for ultimate relaxation.

The hotel's in house restaurant means there is little reason for you to venture elsewhere when such premium produce is available at your door step. With a menu that changes daily enticing Asian influences, the resorts open-air dining hut has a paired back, rustic island vibe amongst the exotic sights and sound of the reef and nearby tropical gardens. Whilst there is no hotel bar, sunset drinks can be enjoyed in the relaxed lounge area or restaurant.

Daily activities provided include morning yoga and meditation, island day trips to the infamous Whitehaven beach and sea plan adventures.

It should be noted that February is the hotel’s annual month off and is at its best visited June - August throughout the drier months of the year. Out tip however is to book your stay well in advance!
